Trichomoniasis also called “trich,” is an STI caused by a parasite. It is usually cured with antibiotics. In women, this infection can cause genital itching, an unpleasant and foul-smelling vaginal discharge, and painful urination. It is among the most common STIs in the US and affects more women than men. Men with trichomoniasis usually have no symptoms.
