Who We Are
Established since 2008
U:phoria architecture+design was established in 2008 and is an energetic & progressive architectural practice based in Singapore. Since then, the firm has amassed a myriad of experiences across various spectrum of projects, ranging from residential to interior design to large scale township planning. We strongly believe that good design entails and encompasses the manifestation of ideas across diciplines, and embracing the vibrancy of the social milieu as the design motivation.
Design
In designing, U:phoria is always guided by the Direction, Inspiration and Approach as the beacons.
Direction : Through its belief, U:phoria adopts a collaborative direction towards design and provides a unique platform for the crystalisation of ideas and ideals from various design disciplines and like minded professionals.
Inspiration : Taking architecture, art, fashion, poetry, music, media as inspirational tools in the formulation of design ideas.
Approach : Always having an investigative and experimental approach to challenge norms and conventions of design and ideals.
Founder
Founder of the firm, Tan Wee Meng, has been in practice for over 20 years since graduating from the National University of Singapore with an Honours Degree in Architecture, and have worked with 2 prominent architectural firms in Singapore; in Team Design Architets Pte Ltd as a Deputy Director and Surbana International Consultants Pte Ltd as a Vice President, leading a team in overseeing local and international projects.
